Gyeongju (Kyungju), Gyeongsangbuk-Do Province 
Seokguram is a grotto temple located a few miles Northeast of Bulguksa. It enshrines a white granite Sakyamuni Buddha image, considered by some to be the most flawless one in the world. The Sakyamuni sits facing the forested hills and the East Sea on a lotus dais. His right palm rests downward on his right leg, a position referred to as “Calling of the Earth to Witness.” The temple is unique, beautiful, and unmatched. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site. |
